Getting Organized
First start early, usually there is more stuff to move than you think there is, and usually you do not have enough time to pack it.
Write two room list , one for the home your packing from and one for your new home. This will help you manage where everything goes.
Take inventory of each room, write down the types of things that need to be packed: furniture items, length of shelving, closets, etc.
Leave enough time, most of the time it takes a month to pack. One study reported that it takes 4-5 hours to pack an average dorm room, so that should give you an idea of what’s involved.
Get a calendar and plan day when each room will be completed.
Agree with family members on tasks they will be doing and the date they will be finished.
Track where you actually and where you should be on the calendar. Revise your plan if you’re falling behind.
