CUSTOMS REGULATIONS

SPANIARDS

  • Colored copy of D.N.I.
  • Declaration of value (relation of goods with a statistic value in Euros).
  • B/L consigned to your client.
  • “Consular Discharge”: Original certificate from SPANISH CONSULATE in origin, in which the period of residence outside of the European Union must be indicated (start date and end).
  • Duly certificate issued by a Spanish City Council stating the client now lives in Spain “Alta del Padrón Municipal”.
  • Commitment Declaration: (enclosed, to be filled and signed by importer).
  • Dispatch Authorization: (enclosed, to be filled and signed by importer).
  • Etiquetas de Hacienda” – contributor duly, provided at Treasury Office.

EUROPEAN COMMUNITARIANS

  • Colored copy of passport and European Communitarian regime NIE (Número de Identificación de Extranjeros).
  • Declaration of value(relation of goods with a statistic value in Euros).
  • B/L consigned to your client.
  • “Consular Discharge”: Original certificate from CORRESPONDENT CONSULATE in origin, in which the period of residence outside of the European Union must be indicated (start date and end).
  • Duly certificate issued by a Spanish City Council stating the client now lives in Spain “Alta del Padrón Municipal”.
  • Commitment Declaration: (enclosed, to be filled and signed by importer).

NON EUROPEAN COMMUNITARIANS

SECOND (TEMPORARY) RESIDENCE:

Must have a purchase or rental of a house indicating a minimum oftwo (2) yearscontract.

VEHICLES

  • Purchase invoice of the vehicle.
  • Minimum 12 months in client’s possession.
  • Must be completely paid.
  • Original documentation of the vehicle: certificate of title / ownership.
  • Technical details sheet.
  • Accomplishment of European greenhouse gas emissions standards: 1998/99 through agreements between the European Commission and the automotive industry.

DIPLOMATS

Goods imported with tax exemption by personnel with diplomatic status:Accredited personnel in Spain with diplomatic status (in Embassies, Consulates and International Organizations), are allowed to import with diplomatic status the goods needed for its own use and consumption during the period of its accreditation in Spain, although with a quarterly limit of 9.015,18 Euros.In any case, as far as alcoholic beverages and tobacco is concerned there are the following limitations, with quarterly nature:

a) Tobacco:

  • Cigarettes 9.000 units.
  • Cigars 65 units.

b) Alcohol and alcoholic beverages:

  • Beverages derived: 90 liters.
  • Sparkling wine: 30 liters.

Heads with Diplomatic Corps Mission are allowed to import with tax exemption the double of these quantities.

REQUIRED DOCUMENTS

  • Official statement letter from Embassy in Spain.
  • Franchise concession from Spanish Ministry of Economy and Treasury addressed to Spanish Ministry of Foreign Affairs and Cooperation.
  • Copy of Passport and NIE (Número de Identificación de Extranjeros).
  • Commitment Declaration and Dispatch Authorization.
  • Statement from Spanish Ministry of Foreign Affairs, recognizing the new diplomat officially.

Commitment Declaration (“Declaración de compromiso”)

Standard document provided by Customs (in Spanish only), in which client states that imported used household goods are for a personal use with no profit motive in mind.-

Dispatch Authorisation (“Autorización de Despacho”)

Standard document provided by Customs (in Spanish only), in which client authorities Customs dispatcher chosen by our agent to act on behalf of the importer as intermediary with local Customs Office.

PETS

Cats and dogs are subject to Regulation (EC) No. 998/2003. Pets arriving from Gibraltar may comply with the same regulations as pets arriving from EU Member States. Import of unvaccinated pets under 3 months old may be allowed if holding authorization. Import measures apply if importing 5 or more pets. All animals are subject to examination by Customs Veterinarian. Clearance of animals may be delayed after working hours and at weekends. For transportation of cats and dogs in passenger’s cabin, it is advisable that pets are carried inside a stiff carton box or similar. Products of animal origin, not originating from an EU Member State, Andorra, Liechtenstein, Norway, San Marino or Switzerland, are not permitted to be imported into an EU Member State, with the exception of limited amounts from Andorra, Faroe Isl., Greenland, Iceland and small amounts of specific products from other countries.
